Solheim, located on the Gauteng East Rand, is a suburb of Germiston and forms part of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

Spring and Autumn are mild and sunny but cold snaps can occur in April and September. The average winter temperature is 16° Celsius, with the average summer temperature being 25° Celsius.
